Yes, We Do Love Katamari

As I read on Gamespot, We Love Katamari (or known as Minna Daisuki Katamari Damacy in Japan), or Katamari Damacy 2, as we all might think of it, is coming to the US. Well, I should say a localized version is coming. I mean it's safe to say that this game would be imported like few others if it was not localized for the US, but now we know for sure that an American release is in the works. Unfortunately, there is no release date beyond being stated that it will be here by the end of this year. It still might not be enough to curb importing of the game since the Japanese version comes along in only about two and a half months.

The game will feature many of the old game play mechanics of Katamari Damacy, but with a few twists. First off, the levels sound like they'll include far more variation (I'm sure anyone who played the original noticed that each city around the world looked almost identical in KD), ranging from race tracks to zoos to classrooms. Also, the two player game has been greatly expanded upon. The normal fight mode will be evolved to something that is being rather enigmatically described for now. Also, there will be a co-op mode in which two players will control the same Katamari in a normal level. This means that each player will have to work together to achieve the largest potential.

I don't think I need to say it, but this game will possibly be one of the best games of the year when it finally is released.
