There is a bit of news today that I found interesting...Rockstar has finally made public an official GTA:SA site, with a trailer.  Anyway, I'll let you do the clicking type of thing and all that.

I'm playing more and more CoH with each passing day.  My selling out to PC gaming has become official.  However, I was able to get in a little console gaming this weekend...namely, a little drinking-game version of Wario Ware for the GCN.  This is definitely a game I would not want to own...but for a rental, it is gold.  Unfortunately, I don't think this title can have the lasting ability of most console party games, but for a half week or a whole week, if you have three other people to play with, this game is awesome.  The games are incredibly random (as in, there is less of a theme to each set of random games within a stage), which is about the only downfall of the GCN version of this franchise.  However, the mixture of games being played solo and against all other players simultaneously, along with the unique games that can be found between games, is enough to ensure at least one random night of fun...sadly, I don't think I could get more than one or two sessions of Wario Ware in before I'd lose all interest...a game that's best suited for those with ADD  will usually have to suffer from a lack of long term interest.

Anyway, that's about all for me for console gaming lately.  I know I need to get in more console time, but with CoH, it's a bit of an uphill battle for my attention...I mean as I write this, all I can think of is gaining another couple of levels and getting another awesome power...in fact...attention span waning...need CoH...

For those that care, The Sims 2 has gone gold.  It should be in stores around the 14th of September.  I got burned out on The Sims a little too quickly for my tastes, but if anyone is up for the same old type of game play, but in 3D and with a few new features, your wish is soon to be fulfilled.

On another note, many people keep coming here for some game advice and hints, and I just want to say that it is here and available on the forums.  It's not hard to find, but for some reason it keeps being ignored...oh well.  For some reason, people will often put a lot of time into searching Yahoo or Google for a site that contains what they want, but they will ignore the content of the site they come to.  So, in other words, if you've come here looking for help on, for example, Tales of Symphonia, it means you probably spent a bit of time on whatever search you used (no matter what search keywords I use, Geek-Asylum.com is always near the middle of the list and thus takes time to find) and yet no time is spent to search this site (which would only take 15 freakin' seconds if you look).  Blah.  Sorry, I'm in a bitchy mood today.

Anyway, I'm still pouring all of my free time into CoH.  Sometimes I can't help but look back and realize how much time I've wasted on this game...but whenever I do so, I usually just shrug it off.  I mean with a game this addictive, who cares.  Speaking of which, like a caffeine addict needs his coffee, I have my needs and I'm having a CoH fit about now.

Yup...I missed last night since I was far too busy having my teeth poked and prodded to spend any time on the Internet. Sorry, but I don't have much fun when it comes to dentists and dental things...by the time I got home, I was in enough agony to only want a little food and to play some Smash Bro. Melee to forget my pain. I think I might be getting old, or maybe Smash is getting old and needs a sequel, since I am not finding as much fun from it anymore (of course it is how many years old now?). Yeah, a sequel would definitely be a good thing. I don't just mean for myself either; Nintendo has a virtual goldmine on their hands with the Smash franchise. The original was one of the best sellers for the N64, and Melee is definitely one of the top sellers for the GCN (it's still one of the strongest selling GCN games on the market).

Speaking of good games being on the market. Yesterday I came across a bit of good news for XBox RPG fans and especially for those few people who still are holding onto their hopes for Fable.

I'm still pouring most of my time into CoH. I decided, since I've focused mainly on a Spine/Invuln Scrapper (good for solo and party work...at lower levels at least...at high level a scrapper is as useful as taking each of the four transportation powers), to revive my original game plan for CoH and to focus on my Invuln/Fire Tanker. I started this character a few weeks ago, but soon lost interest as my Internet connection went to crap (which I've corrected in the mean time)...so, I only got my tanker to level 3, so I'm remaking it so I can have the proper feel of starting off fully dedicated to it.

On the note of CoH, I just want to say how horrified I am of many of the CoH geeks out there. I can easily say why the stereotype of geeks who play MMOs not having girlfriends exists...I have been playing a few characters with a female build (ever look at the scrappers and tankers out there? They are mostly male for scrappers and gigantic for tankers...there's too little variety, and the last thing I want to do is make the exact same character as everyone else...like a big tanker who either looks like The Hulk, Iron Man, or Thor) and have been stalked by more than enough geeks who have probably never had the nerve to speak to a girl face-to-face. My favorite part of this is how everyone seems to assume that a female build-character is definitely a chick in real life. My favorite story so far would be this; I was in Parez Park (going solo...spine scrappers are good at that) in a nice and big brawl (one of me vs. about 15 Hellions)...I could handle the fight, but if I stopped for even an instant I was going to die. So, this guy with no originality (yet another freakin' ninja) came up to me and started saying, "I picked you" and "stop" and "wait" over and over again. So, I pretty much ignored him as I tackled the fight ahead of me. Then, as a few blues made a break for it, and I chased them down (I can't let any criminals escape), he started to once again tell me to "stop" and "wait" as he chased after me. Well, the Hellion I was chasing ran into another group of Hellions, so the battle picked up again and I was once again fighting for my life. Then my stalker friend decided to start saying "I am your guardian" (don't know how he, a blaster I later discovered, would be my guardian) and "I PICKED you!". As I continued and one fight led into another, he continued to follow me for about 15 minutes (that was a great series of fights...kept finding respites and breaths so the battles never needed to end) before he eventually left saying "You don't know what you're missing out on". A few minutes later I went to the Atlas Park exit in PP and saw him stalking another female character build. Seriously, if it's (on the Internet) a chick, then it's a 45 year old guy and if it's a child then it's an FBI agent. 'nuff said. At least my female characters let me have a good laugh (and I may even try to take advantage of the stupidity..."could you buy me this enhancement?"..."of course, because I picked you!"...hahaha) at the stupidity of others.

Being Friday and all, I'll start with the obvious...I'm back with another installment of the voyage into my pissed off psyche that I like to call Malik's Bitchings.  It's a bit on the shorter side today, in terms of the topics discussed, but with how much I'm buzzing on caffeine it's a wonder I can even type...anyway, as I just said, I had a bit too much caffeine, so I'm buzzing, so I'm hella random.

For those in the greater Seattle area this weekend, it's the weekend of PAX (Penny Arcade Expo).  For those who don't know what this is, check out the Penny Arcade site and you'll find all the details.  I'm still a bit torn, myself, on whether or not I want to blow $25 on the thing.  On one hand, there will be some really sweet demos, like a playable build of Halo 2, Jade Empire, and Fable (to name a few), and a viewable demo of Splinter Cell 3.  On the other hand, I've blown about $500 on my PC in the last month (and I get paid at the end of the month...think about it), and I'm not sure if there will be enough fun games to go around...for example, Halo 2 will only be up for 2.5 hours and I'm guessing there will only be enough room for, maybe, 16 people to play at once.  Considering there will be around 2000 or more people, the odds of Malik here playing a little Halo 2 on Sunday is pretty iffy.  Also, I'm sure the number of playable Fable and Jade Empires will be pretty small too.

Anyway, I'll make that decision at the last minute like any good procrastinator would (and I consider myself to be one of the best).  Anyway, I just got the invite for some Smash Melee (did I mention PAX will have tournaments in Smash, Soul Caliber 2, and many other games?  It will).  So, I now will fade away into the gentle beast I like to call "the weekend".
